Meet Our Newest Church Planting Resident!

The three core values at City on a Hill are GOSPEL, COMMUNITY, and MISSION. One of the best ways that we as a church can fulfill the "mission" aspect of those core values is by planting churches. Of course we're all called to evangelize and do justice in the city, but by planting churches we're multiplying our gospel impact all throughout the city and world!

This is why City on a Hill has had a constant stream of Church Planting Residents for the past several years. We sent our Charlie Dunn and about 10-20% of our congregation to South Boston in 2013 to plant Hub Church. Then, in 2014, we sent Jared Kirk and a team to plant Renewal Church in Bay Village. Currently, Suresh Sammangi is a Resident working to plant a church among Indian people in the Boston area.

The next church planter that we have joining us is Jay Mudd. The Mudds are moving from Central Florida to plant a church in the Natick/Framingham area. Natick is a quickly growing area with almost zero gospel presence. Their desire is to begin the process of living among the locals and learning how they can best serve the community and reach people with the Gospel of Christ.

Jay has been married to Holly since 2006 and together they have 4 amazing children. Jay has served in ministry for 13 years in many different roles. He holds degrees from The Baptist College of Florida and Liberty Theological Seminary. And we're excited to welcome him onto the team! If you want to learn more about the Mudd family, check out their websites: www.themuddfamily.com or www.projectmilestone.org.

The residency program is an immersion into church planting and CoaH staff. Church Planters typically spend 50% of their time serving at CoaH in a variety of ways, learning as they go. The other 50% of the time they spend developing their strategy, plans, core team, evangelism, etc. If you or someone else is interested in learning more about the program, contact bland@coahchurch.org.
