SONG - This Is Amazing Grace by Phil Wickham

SONG - How Great Thou Art arranged by Paul Baloche

CONFESSION

Because our God is great, and Jesus was sent to us, we can come to God honestly and confess where we’ve missed the mark of having perfect love for God and others; we confess because it is only when we see ourselves clearly that we can invite God to transform us to be more like Him in His perfect love.

We’re going to do this by reading responsively these words on the screen, and then by having a time for personal confession.

During that time, the band will play for a few minutes; if you want to pray aloud, write down a prayer to God, or pray silently, feel free to do that as the Spirit leads.

The underlined portions we’ll read together.

Let’s join our hearts together:

Therefore it says,
Awake, O sleeper,
and arise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”
Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.
Therefore do not be foolish,
but understand what the will of the Lord is.
And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery,
but be filled with the Spirit,
addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ…
Ephesians 5:14-21

Father, we confess that more often than not, we have not made the best use of our time.

We have often pursued pleasure and given up opportunities to do good and bear witness to You.

But by the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, forgive us our sins, and let us declare Your name and Your power…let us sing a hymn of praise live lives that declare who You are!

DEACON INSTALLATION

We were overjoyed to install two new deacons, Gakii Masunga and Jeanette Walker!

They will both be lead servants in caring for and discipling women in the church, especially through our LEAD track for discipling leaders.

SONG - O Come To The Altar by Bethel

OFFERING/DEDICATION

We give not because there is some required percentage or amount, but because we know that we live before the God who sees our hearts, and longs for us to live them in freedom.  We give so that we will trust Him more.  We give sacrificially.  And we give of more than money, we give Him our lives.

Hear the words of Jesus:

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
- Matthew 6:19-21

Let’s pray this together:

Jesus, help us to recognize that this life is passing, and that hoarding possessions is meaningless when we can take nothing with us.

Teach us to give to Your kingdom and those in need, so that we might see others blessed and learn to trust in You instead of possessions which guarantee us nothing.  Amen.
